INKSPIRE 2026 – Volume 2 | Metamorphosis

INKSPIRE 2026 – Volume 2: Metamorphosis is the second edition of the biannual magazine published by the Commerce (Morning) Department of The Bhawanipur Education Society College (BESC), Kolkata. Built around the inspiring theme “Metamorphosis,” this edition celebrates change, transformation, creativity, intellectual curiosity and the continuous journey of personal and academic growth.

INKSPIRE serves as a vibrant platform where students and faculty members come together to share ideas, perspectives, experiences and creative expressions. The magazine reflects the academic environment of the Commerce (Morning) Department while providing students with an opportunity to develop their writing, critical thinking, creativity and ability to engage with contemporary issues.

One of the highlights of INKSPIRE 2026 Volume 2 is its Guest Spot section, featuring engaging conversations with celebrated personalities. The issue includes an interview with acclaimed filmmaker and actress Nandita Das, focusing on cinema, society and storytelling. It also features an insightful conversation with renowned author and columnist Shobhaa De, exploring themes of womanhood, change, nationhood and writing. These conversations offer readers an opportunity to encounter influential voices and perspectives beyond the conventional classroom environment.
The extensive Faculty Focus section brings together thought-provoking articles written by faculty members. The topics cover a broad range of academic and contemporary subjects, including education, mathematics, environmental concerns, artificial intelligence, information technology, marketing and consumer behaviour, professional transformation, economics, adaptation and cultural change. Articles such as “The AI Bubble,” “The Planet in Transition: Confronting the Environmental Crisis,” “Transformation Through Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence,” “Metamorphosis of Marketing & Consumer Behaviour through the Orange Economy,” and “AI’s Restrained Economic Impact” demonstrate the diverse intellectual interests represented in the magazine.

A major attraction of this college magazine is the Student Showcase, which gives students a dedicated platform to present their original thoughts and creative work. The section includes essays, reflective pieces, creative writing, photography and artwork exploring themes such as identity, transformation, technology, memory, relationships, personal growth and contemporary life. Contributions such as “The Beauty in Transformation,” “The Door in my Mind,” “The Journey of an Idea,” “Becoming: From Seeking Acceptance to Finding Myself,” “When Time Turned Digital,” and “Oh My City! — A Chronicle of Becoming” showcase the imagination and varied perspectives of student contributors.

The magazine also celebrates student participation through its Poster Making Competition, featuring winning entries and honourable mentions from students across different semesters. This section highlights the importance of visual communication and creative expression alongside academic achievement. The issue concludes with a Mind Games section, adding an interactive and engaging element for readers.

The central idea of Metamorphosis runs throughout the publication. The theme represents more than simple change; it reflects the process through which individuals evolve through learning, experience, challenges, creativity and self-discovery. The magazine presents transformation as a continuous journey—one that encourages students to question existing ideas, discover their voices, adapt to changing circumstances and develop new perspectives.

INKSPIRE 2026 – Volume 2 is therefore more than a college magazine. It is a collection of academic insights, student voices, creative expression, interviews and contemporary perspectives that captures the intellectual and cultural spirit of the Commerce (Morning) Department of The Bhawanipur Education Society College.

Whether you are a BESC student, faculty member, alumnus, educator, researcher or reader interested in college magazines and student-led academic publications, INKSPIRE 2026 offers an engaging collection of ideas and creative works centred on transformation and growth.
